Greif Unit Faces Trial in Suit Over Worker With Seizure Disorder

Greif Inc. defeated an EEOC lawsuit, but a subsidiary of the industrial packaging manufacturer must face trial on claims it failed to accommodate and fired a plant worker diagnosed with complex partial seizures, a Chicago federal judge ruled.

The ruling partly turned on the speed with which American Flange decided to get rid of the employee, who had been brought aboard just 20 days earlier on a temporary basis through a staffing agency.
