Green Card Problems Getting Worse, Not Better

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services handed out 19,000 green cards over the past three years that either had incorrect information or were issued in duplicate, according to the Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General.

The OIG said it identified 12 incidents between July 2013 and May 2016 in which the USCIS issued incorrect green cards, according to a report released Nov. 21. In each instance, the number of incorrect cards ranged from 19 to 5,434.
