Goya Foods has narrowed a lawsuit over how it compensates its Pennsylvania sales representatives, after the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey dismissed the plaintiffs’ claim for unreimbursed business expenses.
Judge Stanley R. Chesler originally allowed the claim, but on a motion for reconsideration of an earlier decision, decided it wasn’t viable, according to the Thursday order.
The court hadn’t previously considered whether the Pennsylvania Wage Payment and Collection Law entitled plaintiffs to recover deductions for business costs, Chesler said, concluding that it doesn’t.
