Government Extends Deadline to Register for H-1B Visa Lottery

US Citizenship and Immigration Services has extended the deadline to register for H-1B specialty occupation visas after experiencing technical issues with its online system Thursday.

The agency will now accept registrations through 5 p.m. March 20. Employers originally had a noon deadline on Friday to submit online registrations with basic information about the company and each requested worker.

H-1B visas, which have a duration of three years with an option to extend for another three years, are in high demand in tech and engineering fields in particular.
