Two Senate Republicans July 14 introduced resolutions to block Equal Employment Opportunity Commission regulations that limit the incentives employers can offer for employee participation in workplace wellness programs.
The EEOC’s two final rules under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act that restrict employer incentives are inconsistent with prior Affordable Care Act regulations that encouraged employers to develop wellness programs, said Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.). Alexander is chairman of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.
