GOP Senators Ask Justices to Review Foreign Grad Work Program

A group of conservative Senate Republicans is calling on the US Supreme Court to take up a challenge to an immigration program that allows foreign graduates of US colleges to work while still on their student visas.

Sens. Ted Cruz (Tex.), Mike Lee (Utah), Tom Cotton (Ark.), Mike Braun (Ind.), and Katie Britt (Ala.) told the high court that the Optional Practical Training program is a US Homeland Security Department workaround to congressionally imposed numerical limits on H-1B specialty occupation visas.
