GOP Renews Push for Details on Dead Participant Pension Payment

Republicans are ramping up pressure on the federal government’s private-sector pension insurer to recover the money it overpaid a massive Teamsters plan by erroneously counting dead participants.

House Education and Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) threatened in a letter Monday to subpoena the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation for documents she and her Republican colleagues have been requesting since it was first revealed that the Central States Pension Fund had been overpaid roughly $127 million.
