The National Labor Relations Board on Wednesday refused to reconsider an agency official’s March decision ruling that Google jointly employs a group of YouTube workers in Texas who were hired through the staffing agency Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp.
Joint employers share liability for violations of federal labor law as well as the duty to bargain with certified unions.
The YouTube workers voted 41-0 for an affiliate of the Communications Workers of America. The union was certified May 4.
