Golden Corral buffet workers in three states can pursue most claims that owners ran afoul of state and federal wage laws.
The workers plausibly alleged that BOTH Inc. and the franchisees it owned deprived them of minimum wage and overtime payments, and they can tentatively pursue their Fair Labor Standards Act claims as a collective, the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia said. However, their state-law claims aren’t suited for class treatment and they lack enough detail to support a tax-reporting claim, the Thursday opinion said.
