Glow Networks Inc. persuaded a US judge that the evidence adduced at trial doesn’t support a jury’s $70 million verdict for workers on racial discrimination claims or some of their retaliation claims.
The proof doesn’t establish that the networking solutions company discriminated against nine Black workers because of their race, or that it retaliated against two workers for speaking up, the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas said March 1. The court also ordered a new trial on two other workers’ retaliation claims.
