Gig Workers Recharge Scooters, Wallets

Tens of thousands of electric scooters can be found in cities across the U.S. Renters use an app to pick them up and drop them off whenever and wherever, but they need to be plugged in and recharged daily.

That’s a job for gig workers, the scooter companies say. Anybody with a driver’s license and a source of electricity is eligible, but don’t quit your day job just yet: The gigs pay as little as $5 per charge, Paige Smith reports.
