Rideshare and delivery drivers as well as tipped workers would be covered under a new $18 hourly minimum wage in Portland, Maine, if voters approve a ballot measure in November.
The Portland City Council voted unanimously Monday night to place the referendum on Nov. 8 ballots. The measure would gradually increase the citywide minimum wage to $18 by Jan. 1, 2025, up from the current $13 minimum.
