TAMPA, Fla.—A Georgia technology company has agreed to pay more than $740,000 in back wages to 73 foreign workers following an investigation by the Labor Department’s Wage and Hour Division that found violations of the H-1B visa program, DOL said June 12.
Norcross, Ga.-based Semafor Technologies LLC agreed to the settlement after WHD determined that the company failed to pay 54 foreign H-1B workers for time when “they were nonproductive because the company did not assign any work,” DOL said in a statement.
The company specializes in software development, on-site/off-site application outsourcing, infrastructure, consulting, and product development services, DOL said. ...
