Georgia Hospital Beats Doctor’s Bid to Revive Equal Pay Act Suit

A Georgia doctor failed to show that the hospital she worked for paid her a lower bonus than a more experienced male physician because of her sex, dooming her effort to revive an equal pay suit, a US appellate court said.

The district judge correctly granted summary judgment in favor of Thomaston, Ga.'s Upson Regional Medical Center because it established that its bonus structure was based on factors other than sex, the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit said.
