A George Mason University cleaning contractor has settled a complaint lodged by the Service Employees International Union with the federal labor board over the treatment of janitors at the school’s Northern Virginia campus.
The accord settles the union’s National Labor Relations Board-filed claim that the contractor, H&E Cleaning Services, Inc., retaliated against workers who supported forming a union.
The case is part of a recent wave of labor unrest by front-line workers at risk of contracting Covid-19.
