General Mills Underpays Overtime, Lawsuit Says

General Mills underpays employees who work overtime by illegally leaving out some compensation in calculating their regular pay rate, according to a new lawsuit.

Overtime, which includes hours worked in excess of 40 in one week, is paid at a rate of one-and-a-half times the regular hourly rate. As is alleged in this case, employers sometimes don’t factor in bonuses on top of an employee’s hourly wage, resulting in overtime pay being less than it should be.
