General Mills Operations LLC’s proposal to pay $127,500 to workers and their lawyers to settle a suit over overtime and bonuses received preliminary approval by a federal judge Feb. 15.
The collective of 434 workers will divide $9,410 among themselves, resulting in just over $20 per employee. The rest of the settlement fund will go to Walcheske & Luzi LLC, which represented the collective and its lead plaintiff, John Weninger.
The settlement resolves the production workers’ complaints that General Mills didn’t properly calculate their overtime pay.
