General Mills, Champion Petfoods Settle Noncompete Dispute

A dispute between General Mills Inc. and Champion Petfoods USA Inc. over a marketing strategist who left one company for the other has settled.

The terms are confidential, General Mills spokeswoman Kelsey Roemhildt said in an email Tuesday. A docket entry showing that the parties agreed to drop the case was made public Tuesday.

Before the settlement, the parties sparred over an injunction from the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York that kept Champion’s sales head, Modestino Mele, from from working for Champion or disclosing General Mills’ confidential information while the district court case, an appeal, ...
