Geico Call Center Workers Nab Group Status in Combined Wage Case

Workers at a Geico call center in Georgia secured conditional collective status for their wage-and-hour suit against the insurance company following a federal judge’s decision to combine two pay cases.

The new collective includes more than 500 people who already opted in and say GEICO General Insurance Co. and Government Employees Insurance Co. only paid them for the time they spent logged in to customer service software after they transitioned to remote work at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, the US District Court for the Middle District of Georgia said Thursday.
