Some 13,500 security guards for the company formerly known as Wackenhut will share $130 million in California’s largest-ever wage-and-hour settlement, plaintiffs’ lawyers said.
The settlement, subject to approval by California Superior Court, Los Angeles, ends litigation over workers’ allegations of being shorted pay over a nine-year period. They claimed that the company, now known as G4S Secure Solutions (USA) Inc., failed to provide meal and rest breaks and accurate wage statements and committed unfair business practices under state law.
