Fuyao Glass Publicly Announces $1.3 Million Overtime Pact (1)

Fuyao Glass America Inc. has agreed to pay $1.3 million to resolve overtime claims brought by over 600 Ohio-based workers under the Fair Labor Standards Act and Ohio law, according to a settlement filed in the Southern District of Ohio.

Julia Staggs and four other individuals brought collective and class action claims on behalf of other Fuyao employees in 2017. They alleged that the Chinese-owned auto glass manufacturer violated the FLSA and Ohio law by failing to pay overtime when employees worked over 40 hours per week, and by compensating some workers with gift cards instead of money.
