A Black former chief legal officer for Fujitec America Inc. didn’t adequately show that non-Black executives were treated more favorably than he was, a federal judge in Ohio found, rejecting Darryl Mitchell’s claims of race discrimination and granting summary judgment to the company.
But another of Mitchell’s claims, alleging defamation against a former coworker whom he says falsely accused him of sexual harassment, can move forward, Judge Jeffery P. Hopkins, of the US District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, ruled.
