The Federal Trade Commission wants a New Jersey-based building services contractor to stop using no-hire agreements with property owners that restrict their ability to hire the contractor’s workers.
Under a proposed consent order, Planned Building Services Inc. and its affiliates, which operate across the US, must stop using such no-hire provisions when contracting with firms for the use of its security, janitorial, and concierge services.
The commission approved the action in a unanimous 5-0 vote, according to a Monday FTC announcement, which tees up a 30-day public comment period before a final order.
