Frontier Wage Row Forced Arbitration Effort Beaten by Workers

Customer service agents who say Frontier Airlines Inc. and Menzies Aviation stiffed them on pay don’t have to arbitrate their wage allegations because they all qualify for a transportation workers exemption, a federal judge said.

Even though the workers, who handle ticket counters and boarding gates at Denver International Airport, agreed to arbitrate their claims against the companies they say jointly employed them, they fall under the Federal Arbitration Act’s carveout, so they can pursue their claims in court, the US District Court for the District of Colorado said Monday.
