A UNITE HERE local in Connecticut clutched a fifth win at Foxwoods Resort Casino after several hundred workers voted to join the union.
Environmental Services Department workers, those who are primarily responsible for cleaning at the casino, began voting April 20 on the question of representation. The more than 300-member bargaining unit marks the fifth department at Foxwoods to join the New England Joint Board of UNITE HERE. The local represents hospitality, gaming, and manufacturing workers in New England.
