A federal district judge must reconsider whether a member of the International Association of Machinists can sue over top union officials’ use of organization funds.
Judge Deborah Chasanow of the US District Court for the District of Maryland improperly dismissed a request from IAM member Sandra Gardner to sue the union by finding she didn’t adequately demand the organization look into its secretary-treasurer, Judge Roger Gregory of the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit wrote in his opinion.
