Former XFL Owner McMahon Trims Some Claims in CEO Firing Suit

Former XFL owner Vince McMahon shook off some claims in a suit brought by ex-CEO Oliver Luck alleging he was wrongfully fired, after a federal trial court found McMahon isn’t a party to the contract.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut granted McMahon’s motion to dismiss the claims of breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing.

The court rejected Luck’s argument that McMahon was obligated to guarantee the performance by Alpha Entertainment Inc.—the company he created to operate the XFL—of its agreements and obligations under the employment contract.
