A federal judge approved a $4 million settlement between Forest Laboratories Inc. and a class of 3,200 women to resolve allegations of unequal pay and sex discrimination.
The settlement ends years of litigation over claims of systemic unequal pay on the basis of sex, individual claims of sex discrimination in promotion, and interference with some of the women’s rights to take maternity leave. The class includes certain job classifications of female sales and institutional representatives working for the pharmaceutical company between 2010 and 2017.
