A proposal to rescind a program that provides work permits to the spouses of skilled guestworkers is still in the works more than six months after it was supposed to be released.
The Department of Homeland Security Aug. 20 told a federal appeals court in Washington that the proposal is still under review by agency leadership, but that the DHS still fully intends to move forward with it. Once the proposal gets the green light from the agency, it has to be reviewed by the White House Office of Management and Budget before being released for public comment.
