A federal magistrate judge in Florida has recommended denying a request from agricultural employers to block a Biden administration overhaul of required wages for foreign farmworkers.
If adopted by a federal district judge, the order would be the latest blow to industry efforts challenging a US Labor Department wage rule for H-2A farmworkers issued last year. Among other changes to wage calculations, the rule requires that the highest possible wage be paid where a worker performs duties falling under multiple occupations.
