Flowers Foods Settles Delivery Driver Wage Suit For $20 Million

Flowers Foods Inc., which makes Wonder Bread and Tastykake, agreed to pay $20 million to resolve nearly six years of Fair Labor Standards Act litigation involving more than 50 delivery drivers in Maine, according to a motion for preliminary settlement approval.

The deal provides for a $9 million settlement fund that would be distributed among the drivers. In addition, Flowers would also buy back the drivers’ distribution rights for an estimated $3.3 million. Lead plaintiff Timothy Noll would receive a $10,000 service award.
