Florida Ban on Workplace Race ‘Guilt’ Training Becomes Law

Gov. Ron DeSantis’s campaign against what he calls “corporate wokeness” now includes a state ban against workplace training that teaches people they should feel guilty about their race or sex.

Training that endorses certain concepts related to racism, sexism, privilege, and merit-based advancement—such as individuals “must feel guilt, anguish, or other forms of psychological distress” because of past actions by other people of the same race or sex—“constitutes discrimination based on race, color, sex, or national origin,” according to the legislation (H.B. 7) that DeSantis (R) signed Friday.
