Florida Aviation Worker Can Pursue Covid Job Bias Lawsuit

iAero Thrust LLC will escape claims that it violated the Florida Civil Rights Act by firing a worker who was diagnosed with Covid-19, but must face federal claims of discrimination and retaliation, a federal court in the state said.

Miami-based iAero Thrust is an aviation engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul and testing provider. Joan Fortun worked as a part mover and inspector. In July 2020 he reported symptoms of Covid, and iAero told him to get tested, he says. Fortun alleges he was terminated as a result of his positive test results.
