Florida’s top attorney sent a letter warning the National Football League to stop enforcing a policy that aims to increase the number of minorities hired in coaching, manager, and executive positions.
Attorney General James Uthmeier’s Wednesday letter asks the NLF Commissioner Roger Goodell to confirm the league will no longer use the “Rooney Rule” or any variation of the policy that requires consideration of race, sex, or other protected classes in Florida as part of its hiring strategy.
