A proposed $1.2 million settlement between Five Guys and more than 2,200 California employees must address several significant deficiencies before getting approval from a California federal court.
The plaintiffs haven’t shown that the proposed deal provides adequate relief to the class or that certain claims warrant class certification, Judge Anthony W. Ishii of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California said Dec. 23. The court declined to certify the class and denied the plaintiffs’ motion for preliminary approval of the deal.
