FIS Beats Worker’s Bias Claims Over Biometric Testing, Cancer

A former systems administrator lacks proof FIS Management Services LLC included him in a layoff because he possibly had cancer or based on his family medical history, the District of Arizona ruled.

A jury couldn’t find disability discrimination drove Kolela Mpoyo’s termination because there’s no proof FIS was aware of the biometric test results showing he was a “high risk” for prostate cancer when it decided to fire him, the court said Dec. 6. Mpoyo learned of that risk, and was sent for follow-up testing, after participating in a health assessment program FIS held for its workers, the court said. ...
