A Los Angeles-area art college gave a union the required chance to bargain over the impact of new managerial positions, a National Labor Relations Board judge said in the agency’s first unfair labor practice ruling since the federal government shutdown.
Administrative Law Judge Andrew Gollin dismissed labor law charges Wednesday against ArtCenter College of Design.
Gollin’s ruling broke a nearly two-month drought in ALJ opinions. There were no decisions during the 43-day lapse in funding, when virtually the entire agency was furloughed. The dry spell then lasted another two weeks.
