Firms Planning on 3 Percent Pay Hikes For Most Workers Next Year, Survey Finds

The typical U.S. company plans to raise its salary budget for nonunion employees by 3 percent in 2011, the same as was projected a year ago for 2010, but more than the actual median increase of 2.5 percent seen this year, according to survey results released July 13 by the Conference Board.

The New York-based business research organization said its annual salary budget survey showed that salary budget projections remained “historically low,” with the median 3 percent increase anticipated last year being the lowest in 25 years.
