Firm Nets $1.56 Million Fee in Retaliation Suit Against Columbia

Sanford Heisler Sharp LLP was awarded $1.56 million in attorneys’ fees from the Southern District of New York Friday for successfully representing a Columbia University Business School professor in a retaliation suit.

It’s not as much as the $5.9 million the firm had hoped for, but Enrichetta Ravina only succeeded on one of her 22 New York City Human Rights Law claims, Judge Ronnie Abrams said.

Ravina said a senior colleague blitzed industry professionals and fellow professors with emails describing her as unstable and difficult to work with after she filed a harassment complaint against him.
