Fired BASF Corp. HR Worker Who Reported Bigoted Manager Can Sue

BASF Corp. must face a human resources employee’s claims that she was fired for complaining that a manager was discriminating against his subordinates, including by blunting their support for George Floyd and gay pride, a Louisville federal judge ruled.

Kerry Cimbalo says she spoke out first to her supervisor and then reported the bias to the corporate legal department when her supervisor failed to act. Her supervisor started an investigation at that point, and she was terminated during the course of the probe for admittedly violating a company guideline, Cimbalo says.
