Fifth Circuit Dismisses Biden $15 Contractor Wage Case as Moot

The Fifth Circuit ordered the dismissal of a three-state lawsuit challenging the Biden administration’s rule requiring a $15 minimum wage for federal contractors.

The New Orleans-based US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ruled in February to uphold the $15-per hour wage rule, but the Trump administration rescinded the executive order behind the regulation, the three-judge panel wrote.

“Both parties agree that this appeal is moot and that it is appropriate to vacate our panel opinion in this case,” Judges Edith Brown Clement, James Earl Graves Jr., and Irma Carrillo Ramirez wrote.
