A former Fiera Capital Inc. executive can take to trial state- and city-law claims that the firm fired him because of his age, a federal judge said.
The fired executive vice president, who served as Fiera’s global head of private wealth, provided enough evidence to get his claims in front of a jury that he lost his job because he’s older, the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said. But the global asset management firm secured summary judgment on the worker’s age-based pay bias claim, the Monday opinion said.
