FCA US LLC’s job-review process discriminates against older employees, causing them to be fired and replaced by younger workers, a new federal lawsuit charges.
A systems engineer, a plant worker, two product engineers, and an automotive engineer in their early to mid-50s filed the suit. The “forced ranking” system the Fiat Chrysler subsidiary uses to evaluate employee performance lets managers intentionally manipulate the ratings of older workers, they say. The system also inadvertently discriminates against workers 40 and older, the Nov. 21 lawsuit alleges.
