In a jury trial conducted entirely via Zoom video conferencing, a federal jury in Washington state found Monday that FedEx Freight Inc. illegally discriminated against a truck driver by removing him from driving based on a knee injury despite clearance by a doctor and must pay $6.8 million in damages.

Long distance driver Dave Goldstine said FedEx benched him after he refused to try to close a broken trailer door, citing a bad knee. FedEx knew about his knee condition prior to hiring him, Goldstine said, but refused to let him return to work even after a doctor cleared him ...
