FedEx Security Workers Want Court Nod on $10.5 Million Wage Deal

Federal Express Corp. security specialists asked a federal judge for permission to move forward with a $10.5 million settlement resolving allegations that the company stiffed them on overtime pay.

The class and collective deal covers more than 100 workers and gives them at least $500 each, apportioned based on how long they worked for FedEx and what they earned, according to settlement documents filed in the US District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. The amount available to workers after deducting attorneys’ fees and other costs “represents 57% of assessed damages after risk-of-loss adjustments,” the Tuesday filings said.
