FedEx Settles Former Worker’s Race, Disability Bias Suit (1)

A former FedEx Ground Package System Inc. package handler who was allegedly fired for stealing hamburgers has agreed to end her race and disability discrimination suit against the shipping company.

In the wake of a Feb. 23 settlement conference, FedEx and Bella Hobbs told Judge Jane E. Magnus-Stinson of the US District Court for the Southern District of Indiana that they had resolved the lawsuit and asked the court Monday to dismiss the case. The terms of the settlement are confidential, FedEx spokesperson Meredith Miller told Bloomberg Law.

Hobbs is biracial and suffers from asthma, according to a previous opinion. ...
