FedEx Prevails in Former Worker’s Race, Religious Bias Lawsuit

FedEx Corp. convinced a federal judge in Tennessee on Wednesday to dismiss a lawsuit brought by a former employee who alleged she was discriminated against by the shipping giant based on her religion, gender, and race.

Beryl McCray, a 61-year-old Black woman and ordained member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, was employed by FedEx as an information agent at Memphis International Airport. She says her religious beliefs require her to visit and preach to people in jail. Her claims relate to a series of disciplinary actions dating back to 2015.
