FedEx Defeats California Worker’s Wage Case Class Status Attempt

FedEx Ground Package System Inc. fought off a California worker’s bid to pursue wage-and-hour claims on behalf of a group, with a federal judge’s ruling the plaintiff fell short of class certification requirements.

The worker who filed the suit on behalf of approximately 69,000 other FedEx package handlers isn’t typical of the entire would-be class, and the questions she proposes don’t demonstrate common factual or legal issues for her proposed recordkeeping and security check groups, the US District Court for the Northern District of California said.
