FedEx Contractor Hit With Lawsuit After Firing Disabled Worker

A package delivery contractor for FedEx Corp. faces a disability discrimination lawsuit after allegedly firing an employee because of his disability, according to the EEOC Thursday.

Lubin Logistics Co. allegedly fired a worker with lupus after he suffered a rare flare-up that caused severe pain in his legs and feet and prevented him from completing a shift. Although the employee explained he could continue to perform his duties as a “jumper” who delivers packages on a truck driven by another driver, or could work as a package loader, he was terminated.
