Federal Workers Could Privately Sue Sooner Under EEOC Proposal

Federal government workers who wish to challenge final agency decisions on their discrimination claims would be able to go to court sooner under a proposed EEOC rule slated to be published Feb. 14.

If finalized, the rule would allow a government employee to file a civil lawsuit within 90 days of receiving an agency’s decision, instead of waiting at least 180 days for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to hear an appeal.
